The Killers和Kings of Leon很相似：先在英国大受欢迎，再返攻美国。乐队其他成员都颇有音乐才华，The Killers暂停活动那段时间，除了小花，鼓手和贝斯手也推出了Solo专辑。由于The Killers的风格太杂糅，吸收了New Wave、Indie Pop、Post-Punk Revival的特点，所以我们直接叫它indie rock好了…
评价杀手乐队对我很困难。因为The Killers博采众长，不仅每张专辑，连每首歌都拒绝重复。简单的说，这是一支以旋律为主导的乐队，一旦旋律创作能力下降，乐队的评价也下滑。
Hot Fuss是The Killers最受欢迎的作品，乐队凭此一战成名，在英国收获了“国际最受欢迎乐队”（貌似是这种奖项）。得知这其实是一支来自美国拉斯维加斯的乐队我还大吃一惊：Hot Fuss哪里听得出美国味！？顺便一说，皇后乐队也是小花的偶像。Hot Fuss综合质量极高，没有filler的歌曲。Smile Like You Mean it、Somebody Told Me也是金曲。至于我，最喜欢B-Side中的Under the Gun。Hot Fuss将“写出不俗不low还能令人耳目一新的旋律”的能力发挥得淋漓尽致。听听“I got soul but I'm not a Soldier”旋律，难怪All These Things I've Done会成为某体育品牌的宣传歌曲…
第二张Sam's Town风格倾向美式Alternative Rock——Sam's Town是拉斯维加斯的一家赌场的名字。小花说：“你们不是说我们是英式摇滚吗？哼！美式一把给你看！”（以上为想像场景…）但貌似评论和市场都不买账。Sam's Town依然畅销，只是销量较Hot Fuse有所下滑。The Killers旋律创作能力依然彪悍，但是Bones的旋律太平淡了。好在For Reason Unknow、Read My Mind、When You were Young…等等歌曲依然能让人兴奋。

至于Battle Born…找不出合适的词来评价这张专辑。一个乐队不可能十年如一日唱一种风格，但转型如果不符合歌迷预期，就是自寻死路。The Killers的转型就是这种情况。它们的编曲依然慷慨激昂，但旋律创作能力在下滑。当年向我推荐The Killers的朋友说：它已经失去继续关注的价值了。摇滚乐坛每年涌现的乐队千千万，老家伙一步走错就万劫不复。从Day&Age开始下滑的声势到Battle Born并没有停止，连我都要暗暗擦汗：这特么不是要胡萝卜吧？
